When did my baby become a toddler?? I seem to be asking myself this question pretty often lately. The Monday after Paxton's first birthday I started getting "Your toddler 12 months week 1" emails... so what, he turns one and he is a toddler??
I feel like we were just getting the hang of having a "baby" and now feel the pressure to read a whole new set of books and enforce discipline? Well, needless to say, I wasn't quite ready to accept this yet and managed to think about it all month long. This little middle place where sometimes he reminds me that he is still such a baby, and yet so many times he reminds me that he is growing up and becoming a more independent toddler.
I am naturally a sentimental person... I view it as both a strength and weakness. I know I will struggle with this whole "letting go" business the rest of his life (yes I realize he is ONLY 1). I am learning though that letting go can be a good thing, and seeing my toddler flourish, learn and explore has been so incredibly rewarding. I thank God every single day for Paxtons health and presence in our life.
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be Pax man...
