Yee-haw!

I'm jumping back into the blogging saddle (pretty clever huh?) No really, I am.  I have close to 20 drafts I have yet to publish but I enjoy it and do hope to catch up.  I pray my words will paint the pictures of our family memories and that they will capture our love and devotion to God and each other!

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved the rodeo.  Growing up my parents would "surprise" me almost every year in elementary school with a rodeo day and we would go during the school day (big deal!).  Those are some of my most vivid and special childhood memories.  Given that my grandpa is a veterinarian and both him and my dad were on rodeo committees for forever,  my dad was always so knowledgeable about all things rodeo.  Made it that much more fun!

I've looked forward to sharing in some of these same memories with our littles for a long time. So far, we've gone every year since Pax was born and he seems to share the same affection for it as me.  This year he really enjoyed it and Brinlee did too on her level.  Matthew cleared his schedule for the day and we all loaded up and headed to the rodeo!

Yes I know, they have no boots on. The truth is we just don't have any.  I could have gone and bought some for the day but then mid day their feet would have been screaming and they would have been barefoot walking through cow manure and Lord knows what else so we went for comfort!
We love the movie Big hero 6 right now so at lunch it was only appropriate to make "the mask"!
First stop, trying to win as many stuffed animals as possible - I hope Paxton doesn't have a gambling problem one day!

Mission accomplished.  Boys won and Brinlee was in Heaven with all the babies!
Proud of themselves and especially Paxton for actually winning a few snakes all on his own!
Brinlee and I did a lot of watching and
Cheering on as pax and daddy rode rides and played games - she just wanted to walk around and say hi to everyone, oh and snuggle her new babies.  Plus, I got her a new cup like Paxton's (best ever by the way) and she was quite obsessed with it all day- who would have thought?
Little drink stealer- every time I turned around she was gulping my cherry limeade - she thought it was so funny

Whos Rodeo day is not complete without a horrible blue snow cone?

Just mesmerized by the bees exhibit. We stayed here probably 10 min.  He also really enjoyed collecting the various animal cards they passed out as you visited each exhibit.
Pax has a little fear of rabbits - his parents may or may not have told him that a scary sound we heard at our house one night was an injured rabbit or something.  I mean, we didn't realize that would scar him 😂 it's taken a lot to convince him rabbits are nice!
He planted sunflower seeds Which we watered first thing when he woke up this morning!
The overall dress - I am obsessed.
Pax had his picture taken on this pony at almost the same age as Brinlee so my overly sentimental self (and husband which he won't admit :)) had to get a picture of her on it! She was so so proud of herself!
These two loved, fought, kicked, shared food and rode together all day. Just like siblings should do!
Could he be any cuter, I mean really?
So big yet still so little "but daddy will I be big enough to ride the water slide next year?"
An absolute successful day.  Happy kids, happy parents and lots of happy memories!

PS - Can we just pause a moment to look the pictures of my kids on the right side of the screen?  It's been that long since I've updated things... that was a year ago... Brinlee's 6 month photos and Paxton's 2 year - waaaa!

Until next time, lots of love!
