Mommy Moments

Okay so I have been MIA writing on our blog the past 2 weeks because I am now a mother and have very little time.  period.

I have discovered recently these segments of time called Mommy moments.  Being a teacher if I do something goofy in the classroom I call them teacher moments or if I do something wonderful I call it the same thing.  So mommy moments fits.

Well, lets just say I have had alot of mommy moments the past few weeks.  I have accidently put Paxtons diaper on too loose and had poop all over me, I have been vomited on because I jostled him around too much after he ate, I have been pee'd on more times then I care to count because my child loves to be naked and I love seeing him happy, I have let Paxton sleep in bed with me (gasp!) so I could catch an extra 30 minutes of sleep, I have breastfed in more dressing rooms then I care to admit, I have used the vaccum daily to calm him down (it is a miracle machine), and I let him suck on a bottle for 30 min before realizing there was a piece of fuzz stuck in the nipple and he was barely getting any food... poor thing :)

On a lighter note, I've had some amazing mommy moments too...
Paxton smiled his first real smile at me, he has completely realized who I am and will cry just for me or his daddy now :), we had family pictures taken and it was an overwelming feeling knowing that this was our little family of 3, he grew out of his first outfit and I just cried, had a feeling something wasn't right so I took him to the doctor and Acid reflux was the culprit (Prevacid is a miracle), I fall more and more in love with Paxton every single day and I look so forward to our precious story time everyday.

It is amazing how quickly he is growing and changing... at 5 weeks we found out he weighs 9lbs 4 oz., he is a smiling machine (especially in the mornings), he loves really high pitched voices and the sound of gasping, he has two favorite toys (Mr. Frog and Mr. Dog), his favorite place to hang out is on his changing pad, the vaccum is his best friend, he loves to ride in Matthews truck (I think the bouncing is soothing), he loves laying in bed with mom and dad, he loves his bouncer bc he loves to kick his feet, he loves to nuzzle in my neck to fall asleep, he just now fits good into his 0-3 month clothes and we are currently working on sleeping in his crib or on a flat surface .  He is so much more alert than he was even a week ago and overall just a happy baby! We are so blessed.

I find that I am constantly trying to remind myself to soak it all in... his tiny ears and nose,  his sweet little smile, the feeling of him lay his tiny little head on my shoulder, how he tucks his feet up when I lift him out of his bouncer or crib, his soft hair and the swirl on the middle of his head, his sweet gaze when he looks up at me when nursing, and the fact that he needs me all the time.  I know that will all fade/change and or go away one day and I never want to forget it.  I go back to work in a few weeks and even thinking about it makes me cry... I am so not ready yet but try to remember its only for part of the day.

I read him Love You Forever and without a doubt start to cry everytime... I know I am pathetic and he is only 6 weeks old :)... but these sweet words mean so much, especially because my mom used to read this book to me.
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be"

I hope you enjoy some pictures from his second month so far, as well as a few of our family photos.  I know I will cherish these pictures so I never forget how precious my sweet baby is at this age.
