Hello friends and family. Being a mommy is alot of work and really hard work when you have a baby that never naps. I am currently typing so fast that my fingers might fall off while he is napping in his CRIB - omg, praise the Lord - and I don't know how much time I have!
When people make the comment - they grow fast, enjoy every minute - you have no idea how true that really is until you live it. I blinked and my baby is 2 months old. Wow.
This is going to sound really corny, well maybe to some but I hope most other moms would agree with me on this, but my whole life I have dreamed of being a mom and my whole pregnancy I planned his nursery and bought him clothes, washed them, smelled them, folded them, organized them, re-organized them... haha.... no seriously though, I spent all of this time getting ready for him and while the day he was born was amazing - the true joy of motherhood is really starting to unfold for me. I look around now and all of his things are being used and he is wearing his clothes and he knows who I am and smiles at me and is healthy and I just cant help but realize my dreams have come true of being a mommy. It is amazing. Alot of hard work, I repeat alot - but at the end of the day it is so wonderful and I am so blessed and thankful to have been given such a loving husband and precious baby boy.
I read this idea on another blog and decided to do it for Paxton - I archive pictures of him on a monthly basis. I have a folder with all month 1 pics and a folder with all month 2 pics. At the end of each month I make a shutterfly or picture book with all of that months pictures. Within this book I get to design it like I want - basically a virtual scrapbook (but way easier to design) that gets printed into a hard bound book. Within it I have all of the pictures of him from that month being careful to explain things and really preserve his and our special memories. At the front of each book I will give his weight and developmental milestones and on the back page Matthew and I write a letter to him. All of his pictures go in the middle! At his first birthday I will have a year full of memory books to display, to see his growth, read and see his first year of life. From that point on I will make a yearly book for him. I am not a scrapbooker but I love to take pictures and I am really sentimental (hence this blog) and I just love the fact that I will have these books to treasure forever (and show his future girlfriend) . You literally make an account on Shutterfly - choose custom path photo book - upload your pictures - move them to the pages and layout you want - add comments to the pages and order! I made one for my maternity pictures that I will treasure.
This has been a very fun and full month for many reasons - Paxton no longer screams all day long because he is on Prevacid and is virtually pain free (yay!), his personality is really starting to develop and I get to know him more and more everyday, he smiles at everything and is just a happy boy!! He started smiling at 4 weeks and now he is just all smiles all the time. I love it and really just want to eat him he is so darn sweet! :)
We have been very busy this past month! We made a visit to Las Colinas to visit Paxton's Aunt Haley and Uncle Chris and had a blast. He also got to meet his Aunt Liz that weekend(a very special day for me). He went swimming for the first time and loved it! He fell asleep in the water - I love my kid. :)
One of the most exciting days this month was Paxton attending his first FIghtin' Texas Aggie Football game!!! Can you say trooper??? As we were walking into the stadium I turned to matthew and said "We're either really stupid or adventurous to be taking him to this game". All in all, he did fantastic. Slept until mid 1st quarter - I fed him and changed him - and then he lasted until after half time. We then went and hung out on the grassy knoll behind the temporary bleachers where we could lay him out and let him kick around and play. He did so good and it was so crazy to have him there. Matthew and I have talked for years about how we couldnt wait to take our little Aggie family to the games one day and well, here we are! Here are some pictures we will cherish and archive for when he applies to A&M one day - 7 weeks old and at his first game! Already a devoted Aggie! :)
Until Next time... lots of love!
