Christmas Joy!

This Christmas was so wonderful! We spent time with our family, played, played and played some more and made some special memories with some special people.  Christmas has evolved so much for me from when I was a "kid" to now.  The whole season feels different and to be honest from the time I quit believing in Santa until this year having a child, the magic (in the Santa, elves, Christmas morning kind of way) wasn't as vivid.  Having a child brought all of that back for me in full force, it added a buzz to the house and a Christmas spark that, for me, had gone away as I had become an adult.  This year was magical but I know there is even more magic to come as Paxton gets older!

We started a blessing ring... all of the Christmas cards we received were placed on the ring and each night we picked a family and prayed specifically for that family.  This will be a tradition at the dinner table during the Christmas season.

Made a trip to Santa's Wonderland to see the lights, another annual tradition we will strive to do each year.

Met Santa, I'm sure my child is traumatized by this now... yikes! We will try again next year :)

Paxton received a table and chairs to use at Pammie and Opas house, he loved it! He got it a little early since we were over there and its meant to stay there... but he felt big sitting at the table all by himself :)

We spent lots of time reading Christmas books this year... he loves books! This one was one our favorites this year, Christmas is coming, Marley!

Paxton had his special paper from Santa!

His gift from Matthew and I was a .... wait for it....A Big box!! JK - It was actually a play kitchen but as you can tell, the box was a big hit!

Paxton somewhat, kinda enjoyed opening gifts.  He actually could have cared less... he was fine with us doing it for him... hopefully next year we will get the ripping and tearing open gifts with excitement response I was waiting for! :)

Matthew and I exchanged gifts Christmas eve (knowing we wouldn't have time Christmas morning) and guess what I got!?!?! A Nikon D 3200 camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have  the best husband ever and all of the pictures you'll see here were taken with my new awesome camera. Thank you very much! I'm still learning how to use it to my full advantage but I'll  get there :)

Christmas Eve we went to church and had Pammie and Opa over afterwards for dinner and gifts! They spoiled Pax rotten (spoiled us too :)) with a train set, trains, sword, action figures, pajamas, grocery cart, bus, buzz lightyear rocket and wheelies ... I'm sure I forgot something) He had a blast and so did we :)

Trains and swords! His Pammie and Opa know him so well!

"Choo-Choo"

Remember that potty book all our moms read to us when we were little? Well, now Pax has one, with sounds!!! Too funny! I can not even believe Potty training is coming up... yikes

Christmas morning play kitchen... ah hem... Outdoor Grill (in a manly voice)

"Hey" He walks around saying "hey, hey, hey"

We headed to Great Grandma Reibenstein's house (Matthews Grandmas) early for brunch and again, Pax was shown how much he is loved.  One of the favorites by the adults was a football uniform, in toddler size complete with helmet, pads, numbers and jersey! Guess what Pax will be for Halloween next year?? So freaking cute!

Aunt Ashley and Uncle T got him a sit and spin which he will spend many fun hours on I'm sure as well as a litle tricycle.  He's not quite ready for it yet, but we'll have it for when he is... He's going to love peddaling it!
Practicing with my camera... the flash is a little bright, sorry Pax
Bubble wrap!!!!!! He discovered and played with it for the first time
Great Grandma has a big backyard so we played outside for a while... Pax loved it and it reminded me of the song (sung to the tune of I've got the Joy)  "I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.... where?" Also, notice the arms with hands upide down position... I just love it!
Once Pax kind of napped at Pammie and Opas house, we headed to Great Grandpa and Grandma Griffiths (my Grandparents) to open gifts and fellowship.  We had a great afternoon and I know they both enjoyed seeing Paxton play and "show off".  He got car stuff and play doh and enjoyed spending time with his second cousin
Echo.
Our little cucumber addict
Pax loved this little singing reindeer

Overall we had a Christmas Eve and Day full of love and fun.  We are so blessed with the birth of Our Savior... none of this would have been possible without Him.  Praise be to God and may the joy of the Christmas season stay with us as long as possible.

Until next time... lots of love!
