All Boy

People ask us all the time, "Wow, he's allllll boy, isn't he?"  YES - in every essence of the word.  Sweet Pax, and yes, rough and tumble boys can also be oh so sweet, is 100% boy.  Within the past month, since the weather has been pretty nice, he has a new love with being outside, ALL the time. This is both good and bad.  Good because were an outdoorsy (is that a word?) family... but bad in the sense that we literally can not spend all day outside.  This is a logical conclusion that an 18 month old just cant reason with.   He loves to run, explore, climb, play with any kind of sports ball, show off, did I say run?, laugh, make us laugh, hide, chase, our dogs, ride his 4 wheeler, play with cars, trains and trucks as well as run around naked or at least in just a diaper with no shirt.  All boy.

I will say though... he may be this little firecracker of a boy but he is also so sweet and loving.  At the end of the day - he still loves to cuddle and give kisses.  He continues to melt my heart daily and has the most precious yet sneaky little smile I've ever seen.  He wakes up happy every day and reminds me what being a mom is all about.

We like to throw fits too, did I mention that?
The 3 of us went to the deer lease not long ago.... he absolutely LOVED it! We spent all weekend outside with a campfire, riding the ranger and exploring away.  He was seriously the happiest I have ever seen him.  I think Matthew had as much fun fulfilling father/son dreams as I did watching them.  It was a great weekend.
The Woodlands Children's Museum is one of our favorite places to play.  Its full of activities that he still needs my guidance on but is still within the range of age appropriate.  We have so much fun when we go... and again, he always gravitates to the "boy" stuff.  The only hard part is alot of moms come and just hang out and talk while their kids play.  We had an issue with some older little boys (5 or 6 year olds) being ugly to Pax.  They were playing firefighter and while I understand they had "fires" to put out... they were just running over Pax, pushing him out of the way, controlling the steering wheel and not letting him turn it and just being ugly to him.  Its the first time as a mom that I felt the need to step in and help Pax deal with them, but instead, I just removed him from the situation and we played something else.  I want him to stand up for himself but I also want him to learn not to play with kids who aren't playing nice.  Parenting is tough....
Here we are painting :)
HUMONGOUS train table, he was in Heaven
The water table was a big hit, although I think he spend more time splashing than he did playing with the toys they had.
The sand table was pretty cool... he loved scooping
Tire pit... his favorite place.  He dug with the trucks, drove them and dumped them.
Nerds! He loved them :)
My silly boy singing and smiling in the bathtub
Trucks, trucks and more tucks.  Living on a corner in a neighborhood with lots of construction, we see and hear lots of trucks every single day.
And the cherry on top - he bumps his head on a daily basis.  This bump/cut whatever you want to call it is by far the worst one yet.  Growing pains right? :)

Until Next time... lots of love!
