My big boy sure does love our Little Gym class. It has been one of our favorite family
activities together since we started going.
Its a parent and kid class that promotes learning through music/songs,
circle time, basic gymnastics moves and social interaction with other
kids. When we first started going Paxton
was 11 months, not walking and not really interested or capable of doing many
of the little gym skills yet. Its been amazing
to watch him go from crawling to walking and since then full out running and
mastery of the skills in his class. He
can hang on the uneven bars, walk on the balance beam alone, walk backwards on
the balance beam holding onto my pointer fingers, he can army crawl ,
wheelbarrow walk when I hold his legs, attempts a forward roll all by himself,
has learned to trust Matthew and I when we push him to try something new, has
safely learned how to climb and get down from somewhere, has formed a
relationship with his little teacher and friends in his class and has learned
how to pick up toys and be a helper. In
January they had a "show" to commemorate everything they had learned
from the beginning of the year thus far.
Matthew comes to class with us when he can and on this day he came and
got to see all of the great things Paxton has been learning. :) The class has been a great investment both
for his physical and intellectual growth as well as his emotional and social
well being. Within the next few months
he will go from being a "bird" to a "beast". I often get all mushy and sad when I think
about how little and tiny he "was" but honestly, I couldn't be more
thankful and proud that he is growing up so big and strong, it makes me feel
good about what we are doing as parents and motivates me to continue to
encourage him to grow and learn, its ultimately whats best for him!
Ms. Ashley and Ms. Laura
So excited for class to start!
"Oh everyone please shake, shake, shake and sing along
with me... how do you do you little birds how do you do? ....." Pax loves
the shakers and loves putting them away :)
Itsy Bitsy Spider!
Paxton and Colton - sweet little friends
Forward roll on the cheese mat!
Waiting on the music - he knows whats coming - he so much more patient here then at home :)
Balance Beam fun with Daddy - this time he was kicking his
legs up and pulling the other leg to it
Hanging on the bars!
Dance time! (Rockin' in the tree top is his fav)
Fun with balls - this is Paxton and Daddys favorite time!
Such a good helper putting the balls away
Pax loves the bubbles - they never get old!
Stamps on our feet at the end of class
Big Boy TV watching pose with no shirt - ah!
Were eating with a spoon and fork ALL the time - no more
fingers!
At the end of January I had my wisdom teeth out - good golly
- it wasn't near as bad as the pain I was in before I had them out! My boys and
my mom took such good care of me. Pax
would come and hug my legs :), they brought me flowers, dealt with my cranky,
stanky self and gave me the space and time to recover.
Sweet Pax thinks he is so big - but moments like this remind
us of how small he really is.
New
shoes! We didn't wait until his toes were poking out the end this time around-
he is growing so fast!
Until Next time... lots of love!
