Waiting for Brinlee!

So, I am 28 weeks pregnant and last week we had our 28 week appointment which included a 4d ultrasound (attempt), glucose test and rhogam shot.  I am feeling good, maintaining a healthy weight and measuring on track. Other than restless leg and sleeping troubles I am feeling great and thankful I still have lots of energy to keep up with little man!  Baby Brinlee is doing wonderful and to see her sweet face and movements on the inside was breathtaking.  I think she already looks like Paxton :)  We'll try again in a few weeks to get more pictures of her.  I know some people don't like 4d ultrasounds because it "ruins the surprise" or feel it's "an invasion into an otherwise secret place" but honestly, we did it with Pax and it is so accurate that when he was born one of my first thoughts was, "yep, that's him".  He looked the same and it was an instant bond.  I find it amazing that we can get a glimpse of these tiny miracles at such a vulnerable time.  It in no way takes away the beauty of seeing them in person - makes the anticipation that much sweeter.

Last week we also had a family/maternity photo session with Sarah Prince (Sarah Prince Photography) in an attempt to capture this special time in all our lives.  We had a beautiful afternoon and beautiful park but HOT weather and a little boy who wanted nothing to do with the camera :)  In 12 short weeks, the life we have all known will drastically change when a baby girl will join our crew and rock our world.

We fell in love with Brinlee as soon as we knew she was coming - its instinctual and a special gift God gives us when he chooses us to be parents.  We've been excited to see her grow and feel her move and are anxiously awaiting holding her tiny little body in our arms.  We are so excited to see Paxton take on the role of big brother too.  As an only child I never experienced either, but I imagine it to be wonderful yet difficult.  I worry he won't understand what's happening, but more than anything, I can't wait to see him love on her and protect her.

I am beyond grateful to be married to a man who lives for his God and his family and who is as excited to be a part of this pregnancy as I am.  Our family of 3 will soon be a family of 4 and I can hardly believe it (that doesn't mean I am ready :)).

Oh the lovely Crocs.  I bought him new Sperry's for this photo shoot and he REFUSED to wear them - so he wore Crocs and we decided not to fight that battle :)

We read this book about 5 times a day :)

Until next time... lots of love!
