Living and Loving life!

Oh Summer... how you came and left so soon.  There is an air about summer time and that air is gone.  Now we're just left with the heat and sun as we all anxiously await fall, cool weather.  Pax and I have had a great summer and have truly enjoyed living each day to the fullest and loving our life! I took a little hiatus this summer from blogging...so its time to play catch up.  From July to August...

Pax and his sweet friend Harper when our families went on a quick weekend trip to the JW Marriott resort for my birthday.  These two are a little over 3 months apart and are so sweet together.  They had a blast playing in the lazy river and sharing snacks all weekend! My parents came and so did my Aunt and Uncle, it was a great family/friend, relaxing weekend.  We can't wait to go back!

While at the JW Marriott we celebrated Paxton's real 2nd birthday.  By this point and having been sung too about 5 times over the course of the weekend, he knew just what to do!

Oh how these girls and their Momma mean so much to us.  Morgan and Elise are Jennifer's girls ( Paxton's Ms. Jenny)  We are still great friends and our kiddos are forming a friendship as they grow.  This was the best group shot we could get :)  While at lunch, Pax refused to sit in a high chair or with me... he wanted to sit on Ms. Jenny's lap the entire time... she let him too, they will always have a sweet little bond :)

Pax and I went on many dates to the zoo this summer.  He loves animals and its a great place to make connections and learn limits.  They had a fun splash pad which was nice to cool off in and overall just made for a fun day.  This particular day (3 pics above) we met my good friend Liz and her girls.  They live in McKinney now so we don't get to see them much.  Not sure how I managed to not get a picture of us but I didn't.  Still a super fun day!

Oh the pool... we loved the pool this summer.  Pax was quite the little fish and while we didn't do swim lessons this summer.. we definitely will need to next summer.  He has NO FEAR of the water - good/bad situation but fun nonetheless

Pax loves puzzles! He got a handful for his birthday and he is really good at them.  He is very detail orientated (aka OCD) and will focus on things until they are finished, so puzzles were one of our favorite summer indoor activities.  We worked on colors and shapes too - I found a Melissa and Doug puzzle that reinforced these concepts and they are his favorite by far.

Homemade donuts were made many summer mornings :) Thank you Brinlee

Pax got this little white table and chairs for his birthday from my parents.  I love it except for the fact that he loves it so much he rarely wants to sit at our table, refuses now to sit in a high chair and looks way to big sitting there eating.  Its all good though.... he feels big!

Role playing... this is a new one for us... his little imagination is running wild.  :)

Matthew and I got him an art easel for his birthday.  He has never really been into art but I guess I just felt like he needed one and it could serve many purposes.  He likes chalkboards and this one has a real chalkboard surface on it, not the plastic-y one you have to used water to get off.  To my surprise, he loves it.  He has to get marker all they way to the top and spends just as much time putting the caps on and off as he does being an artist :)

The past 3 pictures were from another zoo date with Randi and her boys and my cousin Amanda and her son Samuel.  We had SO much fun.  These three boys played so well together.  Such sweet little guys!

Incredible pizza... the dirtiest, craziest place to play but Paxton (and Matthew) love it.

A few of Brinlee's wardrobe pieces... just had to throw these in here.

Outside in the Sunday summer heat on his trainer... he is crazy.

Sometimes, lazy summer mornings were our favorite.  He probably won't remember these summer days where we wore our pj's until after nap time, hibernated in the cool house and snuggled on the couch watching Chuggington and Cars, but I will. For me, right now... this is what life is ALL about.

Trains and cars... our favorite

Fun, summer playdate at cousin Samuels house! They are able to have a blow up pool in their backyard because they don't have two dogs who would be in it constantly or chew it up :) We had a great day spending time with Amanda and Samuel.. wish we lived closer!
Paxton loves lip gloss! hehe

Magnets are way fun... we don't have a magnetic fridge so we just use a magnet board in the playroom but these automobile/transportation magnets were a birthday gift and he loves them.  We pull them off all, name them and put them back on the magnet board at least once a day :)

And.... what summer day wouldn't be complete without a popsicle.  These became one of his favorite summer treats.  As a mom, it was so frustrating to watch because he couldn't eat it fast enough for it not to melt and break off several times during the course of him eating it, but we managed and he got over it.  Red and blue were his favorite - leaving the pink and green for me!! Anyone like purple or orange? We have a freezer full!

Sweet summer time with my Pax.  The last one just the two of us - but we enjoyed every minute!

Until Next time.. lots of love!
