Valentine's Day

What a fun Valentines this year!  We had lots of fun learning about what LOVE is and that showing true love is really an everyday goal!

We had fun preparing and getting Paxton's Valentines for school ready.  I swear the little circle they give kids to write their name is so tiny - thank goodness his nickname is Pax so that we could actually finish the darn things.  Who knows how many cards we went through where he attempted to write Paxton - precious soul.  This years chosen theme (Thanks to Pammie's help) was Transformers.

Pax had a fun Valentine ice cream party at school  - Brinlee loved being in the big kid class :)  Brinlee also had gymnastics that day and absolutely loved the chalk heart they drew on the trampoline for her to jump in!

He had a rough morning between not wanting to fix his hair, frustrated by his car seat straps, he dropped his cup and I made him wear shoes he didnt want to wear!  He even told me in the car through tears, "Mom, I'm just having a rough day so far".  I encouraged him it was party day and he would love being at school and sure enough - he was so happy when I got there for the party!

Look at that tongue  deep in concentration!

Afraid at first...

She did it!

We had a lot of fun at home making some fun Valentine crafts and the kids were excited to give them to Daddy.  The kids even got a fun care package from Pammie and Opa complete with a new fun 50 button (okay 20) sound machine! Yay I'm so excited about that one!!!!  Ha!

Brin was way more interested in the c-a-n-d-y!

Traditionally - Matthew and I have planned a date night to celebrate Valentines Day but that didn't work out this year :)  Instead, we spent the weekend with our precious little ones, carving out intentional time with them and just enjoying one another.

The whole Idea behind this blog - "All Because Two People Fell in Love" couldn't have rang more true in meaning this weekend.  All we have - the two babies we made, our life together, what we value and choose to do with our time... so on and so on all boils down to what happened 13 years ago on the 4th of July when our love story began.

This weekend wasn't anything over the top special - nothing fancy or expensive.  We got the kids little love tokens and shared cards with one another but despite the lack of materialistic things and experiences to "show our love" - I have never felt more love.

We spent a lot of time outside - Matthew cycled on Saturday morning- I snuck off during nap time to grab a pedicure and began reading "Raising Grateful Kids In An Entitled World"  by Kristen Welch (GO GRAB A COPY), we ate dinner at Chuy's  - woke up Sunday and went to church... time out... our pastor preached a very powerful message on marriage,  in a gist - if you have ever thought the grass is greener on the other side - then you probably aren't watering your own.  BOOM.  Work on your marriage constantly.  Water it, weed it, cut it, cultivate it,  etc, etc. We had a great lunch at Chili's after church, came home and hoped our kids would nap (FAIL) so we ended up spending the rest of the afternoon outside.  It was glorious.  We enjoyed each other - enjoyed our home and our many blessings.

Valentine's Day couldn't have been filled with more love.

A photographer once told my kids to look for Minnie mouse in the lens to encourage them to look at the camera to smile - yeah so that didn't work.  Pax was seriously looking for her - no way I was going to get a smile :p

Can't you just hear the squeal?!

This one was so busy swimming - he is such a fish!

LOVE!
