I had so many amazing women there... so many friends and family I hold dear to my heart. There were multiple friends that I love dearly and talk to, but rarely see, who were there and that meant to much to me. I loved catching up with them and sharing in the excitement of Paxton being here very, very soon!
We played some fun games and of course opened many (generous) gifts. My favorite things were seeing family and friends and the mommy advice cards most everyone included in their gifts. There was some extremely valuable advice given that I will cherish and remember and use!
Fathers Day was wonderful... we woke up early and went to church with my parents (celebrating two daddy's this year). The boys then went golfing and Mom and I went to the mall!!! It was so fun because mom picked out the bedding for the crib she will have for Paxton and future babies. We went to Pottery Barn Kids and picked a unisex bedding that can really be used for either gender. She is going to pull out the navy blue and white and decorate with traditional toys (maybe a train set too :)) We met the boys for a late lunch and then headed to Grandpa Griffith's house to watch the Aggies! What a great night... I was surrounded by the men I love, celebrating them as my Grandpa, Dad, Matthew as a new daddy and my unborn son... it was beautiful.
I was 36 weeks on Friday (June 17) and went for a doctors appointment yesterday the 21st. We had our last ultrasound to determine weight and check his overall health. Everything looks perfect right now... he is head down, and approximately 5.4 lbs . The doctor expects him to be between 6 and 7 pounds at birth. I am still really dealing with gallbladder issues and all I can say is I cannot wait until this issue is gone. I feel SO great with the exception of my annoying gallbladder. I will be 37 weeks on Friday and see my doctor next week. She said then we would discuss induction (EEk!) given that my body was getting ready for delivery too.
Last night we went to a Newborn care class... what a joke (well kinda). I way underestimated my knowledge base. Was it good to hear it all?... yes! Was it good to interact with other mommy's due soon?.... yes. Did it make me feel more confident of what to expect very soon?... yes! Was it absolutely necessary to take this class in order to know how to care for a newborn... no! What was hysterical though is that our baby (see below) looked JUST like Matthew... haha... it was so funny. Matthew kept me very entertained taking care of him all night. By the end of the night the poor baby was a criminal. Oh the memories!
Matthew jr!
Give me all your money! (per Matthew)
Lastly... no one told me how severe NESTING can be... OMG. I am going 90 to nothing all day long organizing, hanging, folding, stressing, researching, packing.... the list could go on and on! Matthew comes home and I literally feel like I just hand him a list... poor thing. Needless to say I am so ready and pretty soon Ill be heading to Mom's house to figure out something to organize there! Ha!
This was long and choppy but hey, that's how my brain is currently functioning so I have a reason! :p
Until next time... lots of love!
