Paxton,
You are a joy my little love. Everything in life is exciting to you. From a popsicle for snack, trip to the grocery store or a fun night away you find joy in everything and do everything with joy.
You are funny. You have a vivid imagination and a quick wit. You have something to say about everything and an opinion you are not afraid to share with anyone- we're working on this but I know that is a quality we will enjoy watching develop within you. You are very, very easy going - but when it matters to YOU, you are very particular. You like things a certain way and have a vision in your head of how you expect it to go- I wonder who you get that from? We'll continue to pray that as you get older you accept God's plan for your life and allow Him to be in control. You are so much like us (mommy and daddy) in this way.
You have such a kind, giving, gentle heart. You are always in tune with others emotions and are quick to point out "mommy he's sad" or "mommy she is mad". I see you with your sister and how even when you don't think I am looking you talk sweetly to her and always put her needs first. I feel like you are wise beyond your years sometimes when it comes to intuition. We will be in certain situations and its as if you know or sense what's appropriate. You are too young for all of that to have been taught so I know its just a quality God blessed you with. I love that about you.
You are so full of energy that sometimes we have to make you take a break. You are so busy with playing and creating and imagining. All. The. Time. I do love it though. I was the exact same way a a child and so was your dad. I love this quality about you. I am blown away some days at how athletic you are, naturally. You may grow up to find a sport you love and excel at or you may just learn to love adventure and use that athleticism to do neat excursions outside. You love to climb, jump, RUN (watch how fast I can run? You say this to everyone) throw and most recently learned how to shoot a bow and arrow. Your Dad and Opa are both naturally athletic too. I'm pretty sure that's who you get it from - its certainly not from me! HA!
Your sister adores you my love. My goodness does she love you. I walk in the mornings to her room and the FIRST thing she says "Bubba is up?" Not "good morning mommy" or "Hi mommy" its all about you. She squeals with delight when she sees you and basically does (or tries) to do everything you do. You are so patient with her. Way more than I am sometimes. You are just such a great example to her. When I became a mommy to two I had NO IDEA how valuable and good example would be for the younger sibling. She learns so much from you and I look at you sometimes and I am so proud of who you are becoming and who you are to her and others right now.
Turning 4 has been tough for me to accept - you feel, look, act so big. I am learning to let go even at this young age. That being said, you are so so loved. You are adored not only by us (mommy and daddy) but your family, your friends and God.
When we asked you how you wanted to celebrate your birthday this year you emphatically said you wanted to go to the zoo. Well alright! It had been almost 2 years since we had been last and Brinlee had never been so it was a win win for all. We had such a fun day celebrating and spoiling you! You loved turning 4 :)

Knowing we were going to the zoo you wore this special little button all day - you loved this!
New bike and "engine" turtle helmet!
New trampoline to bounce away all the energy you have! :)
On our way to the Zoo we stopped and had lunch at the Aquarium downtown. This was so fun and you loved it!
Sister had to squeeze in a nap at some point - such a trooper!
Giraffes!
This was so fun! We bought you lettuce to feed the giraffes and because it was your birthday they let you stick around a bit and gave you lots of lettuce to feed them. You thought it was so funny!
Seeing the new gorilla exhibit. You held Brinlee's hand just because you love her :)
We played (ahem you both played daddy and I watched) at the splash park.
Monkeys were a family favorite - everyone enjoyed watching them!
The elephants were fun too!
You went through this tunnel probably 20 times - surrounded by Piranhas!
Happy Birthday Pax man!
