Oh Houston Rodeo how we love you!! We have so many fun memories at this place and this year was no exception. Matthew and I try to make at least one day/night a date for just the two of us and because my mom so willingly took off a half day of work for us - we were able to go! Woohoo!
We spent time doing some shopping (got the cutest little personalized chalk/dry erase boxes for the car to put in the kids Easter baskets) and also spent time on the rides outside. Let me just also say we had a few arguments on my willingness to ride these so called crazy rides. When I was younger I was cooler and more willing to just go crazy and ride all the thrillers. Nowadays I am so not. Like I get nauseous and tingly all inside. NO MORE. I can't do it. I tried one and I was seriously screaming bloody murder like I was all about to die. I'm just too worried about everything working properly and lubed properly and just everything. So - after a few words exchanged I soon became the cheerleader and watched my fearless husband ride thriller after thriller - from the ground. I am cool.
We did have a great opportunity to spend the evening in the Directors Club thanks to our dear friend Sherri and her family and WOW - it was fantastic. Food and drinks galore - awesome seats and just an all around great time. What was even better was getting to spend it with my love. We don't get out much just the two of us so it was wonderful!
CRAZY
Yeah - so I was in line for this thriller and a guy PUKED on the ride as I was in line. NO THANK YOU. Abort, abort!
My crazy husband got on the thriller puke ride.
Fancied up. My husband looks hot in a cowboy hat!
It was military appreciation night and some of our armed forces repelled down from the ceiling of NRG with the flag. It was beautiful!
Fatty fatty two by four.... lots of dessert and coffee!
Earlier in the month we planned on going to the rodeo for the day with my parents and the kids. The tickets had been bought and we were all excited. Well, God decided that Texas would get a monsoon all day Tuesday and part of Wednesday so we decided last minute to move forward with our plan of going with umbrellas and ponchos in hand! I am so glad we did!
Natalita's for lunch before heading out!
The first ride of the day while it wasn't raining! To be a bit timid Paxton is quite the thrill seeker!
It went high and he loved it!
Brinlee was more into the wash station with bubble machine!
Binlee's first solo ride! She wasn't too sure at first but then loved it!
Daddy is the best!
Pure childhood joy!
Woohoo!
It started to rain and we bolted!
This was way cool. Paxton got to pick out colors to make his very own rope! Matthew twisted, Paxton twisted and voila!
Little country fringed boot girl checking out the chickens!
She felt so big riding a horse!
Paxton riding his horse with his new rope!
Daddy roped the stroller! haha
Petting zoo with Pammie - Brinlee loved it but llamas are weird and the goats kepts trying to eat her dress.
love.
Before the performer began we left - it was already 8:45 and it was a long day. It also happened to be pouring rain outside. Thank goodness I had brought ponchos. We put them on ourselves and the kids. Threw them in the BOB stroller and proceeded to walk to the car. It was an adventurous walk but we made it and mostly dry - the bottom 10 inches of all our pants were soaked!
What a fun, fun day full of memories!
