Pumpkin Time!

The three of us couldn't bear to stay indoors all day on this glorious weekend the Lord gave us so we decided to make a trip to 7 acre wood for some good ole family time and fun.  7 Acre wood is awesome complete with play areas, little tikes car lot where the kids can drive on "streets" and play in little houses, pony rides, petting zoo, huge sand pit, putt putt golf, hay rides, "train rides" (trash cans pulled by a tractor :)), zip lining and the oh so traditional pumpkin patch.  We knew we wouldn't get to even half of all the activities offered and were totally okay with it.  We let Pax guide our day and enjoy it on his level.  Every thing we do is exciting, fun and a learning experience for ALL of us :) With our independent little man we are constantly trying to find a balance between encouraging his independence and shaping it within our comfortable limits. He was so not interested in the pumpkins... he liked looking at them but certainly didn't want to pose or smile or pretend to be sitting on one :). We got a few family shots but lets be real here.... getting an independent 2 year old to sit still and smile is next to impossible so we'll just take what we get.   We'll look back one day on these pictures and remember this age and the season of 2 year old independence :) He absolutely loved the freedom of being able to go from thing to thing and the space to just run!

The pumpkins at 7 acre wood were horrible so we bought some from a little farmers market by our house on the way home.  He was more interested in our little pumpkin patch in the front yard than the huge one earlier :) We intended on (after the Texans game and Pax's nap) decorating, carving, playing with and painting our pumpkins but our bug was so worn out it was nearly dark when he finally woke up.  We'll do all that another day!   Sweet memories and pumpkin fun made for a perfect Sunday!

We love to jump!
Not real sure about being in the petting zoo so we fed them from the outside

Sand box! We will have to invest in one at some point...

My sweet, sweet boy
We were lovin' :)

Checking things out...

Attempted a posed picture... wouldn't even look our way :)

He loved squeezing in between the pumpkins

Putt putt!

Sometimes he didn't want to hit the ball in the hole so he just dropped it in instead

Hayride! Held on to daddy the whole time!

Attempt #1 at a family picture :)

Attempt #2 at a family photo - stupid hair :)

Our little front yard pumpkin patch!

Snuck these in from Saturday... my parents and Matthew went to the A&M game together but managed to squeeze in a little game of front yard golf before leaving.

38 weeks y'all... holy smokes! I am so ready... every early/pre labor symptom you can have.  I LOVE being pregnant but I am done - ready to meet her, hold her and be able to use my hands to pick things up off of the ground.  I have had a near perfect pregnancy so far and in the grand scheme of things I know its much easier keeping this baby in, but I am ready!!! C'mon Brinlee Kate!
